The French Industrial Districts Club (Le club des districts industriels français)

After having for several years insisted on their own identities and their own particular qualities, all of the French local productive systems (LPSs) are today confronted with similar issues (shortage of qualified labour and reliance on large contracts), and are facing similar challenges (globalisation and technological innovation). In July 1997 they decided to form an association: the CDIF (the French Industrial Districts Club).

Economic significance

The French Industrial Districts Club brings together more than thirty competitive and innovative LPSs. The Club represents more than 5 000 companies and over 150 000 employees

The Club intends to be:

- a resource centre to promote innovation and partnership between its members
